Lebron Snub??

What did you guys think of the King James snubbing after game 6? To be honest, in my opinion, what he did was fine. He was upset they lost, why should he go over to them and act fake? Like myself, Lebron is a warrior, a great athlete, and a fine individual. I dont see any reason for him to have to go over to people that just ended his season, and say "good series, and good luck".

When I was younger, and an A-mazing intraumural player, I was in various leagues. One team that comes to mind was the team of D-Rock, Scotty, and Myself + Kevin (but he doesnt read the blog). We looked and acted like we didnt belong on the court, but that was part of our game. We suckered teams into thinking we were trash, and then just ROCKED them. After the games we would have them salty losers come up to us, and congratulate us on our domination. We knew they didnt mean it though. They were just fake. They hated us, and we pwned them.

In the end, Lebron, you are right. When you read this, hit me up. I know you usually email me, bt toss me a call this time. We gotta discuss South Beach.

The Belmont Stakes...

Alright...I'm 0 for 2 in the 2009 triple crown races, and come Saturday night I don't see any reason I can't make it 0 for 3. The Belmont Stakes lacks a little luster this year, because no horse is racing for the elusive triple crown, but it is still the longest race of the 3 crown jewels (1 and 1/2 miles) and is considered the "test of a champion".

This years race has very little up front speed, so you may see a horse try and take the field wire to wire. Mine that Bird (winner of the Kentucky Derby, and 2nd in the Preakness) is the Morning Line favorite. As usual, I'm going to try and beat the favorite and see what happens.

With the way this race shapes up, I'm thinking that at the top of the strech heading for home it will be a 3 horse race with a few horses flying from the back to try and get into the money.

$1 Exacta Box: 1,2,4,6 = $12

$1 Trifecta Box: 1,2,4,6 = $24

Longshot to win: #3 Mr. Hot Stuff

Enjoy the races on Saturday, and good luck to all!

P.S.- Shout out to our boy Jumpoff J as Cowboy Cal will be racing on the undercard of the Belmont Stakes tomorrow.

USA! USA!

OK...now that I have your attention, the US Mens national soccer team is back in action tonight in a 2010 world cup qualifier. They are playing Costa Rica at Estadio Ricardo Saprissa. The US is 0-6-1 lifetime when playing AT Costa Rica, so this will be a tough test. The US would have to be happy taking a tie, and a win, while it wouldnt guarantee the US to qualify for the world cup, it would be a HUGE step in the right direction. As it stands right now the US is in 1st place, and Costa Rica is in 2nd in the qualifying group. Tonights game is number 4 out of 10 that will be played in this final qualification stage.
Prediction: This is an almost impossible place to play, so it would be no suprise if Costa Rica wins this game, but since I'm a homer I'll say 1-1 draw.

Phoggy Future

As I was perusing my favorite college basketball messageboard (http://www.caazone.com/), I saw that our beloved Hofstra mens basketball team will be making the trek out to Lawrence, Kansas. This is AWESOME. As a proud Hofstra alum, its nice to see us playing a quality opponent. No more wins over Longwood, and Stony Brook, those are madd Jeter anyway. Id rather lose to Kansas on national television, then beat Longwood. If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around, does it make a noise? If Hofstra wins a home game vs. Longwood, and you live in jersey, would you hear about it?
Next years schedule isnt out yet, but some teams are releasing their out of conference schedules, and this popped up on Kansas'. Through the grapevine, I am hearing maybe Syracuse, or UConn as well. Please get those teams.

I am pumped for this season. The Takeover is primed for a sick season, and I am hoping the incoming freshman dont suck.

I am sure you will hear more from me on the schedule in a few weeks when its released. Until then, Lets Go Hofstra

Do Work Son!

Well folks, I thought about not posting anything MMA related after my boy Sugar Rashad was fucking manhandled and mauled by Lyoto Machida. But I wasn't able to resist when I heard my homeboy Kimbo Slice was going to grace the Octogon once again. Well, not exactly.

Dana White, president of the UFC announced that Kimbo will be a contestant on next season's hit reality show"The Ultimate Fighter" on Spike TV.. Now if you weren't aware, when Kimbo first jumped into the MMA scene, Dana was talking a lot of shit, and highly critical in regards to Kimbo's new endeavor. But Dana is in the business of making money. The public wants to see Kimbo. (Or at least the Trio does) And believe me, I can see dude definitely bringing in viewers.

Now a lot of people are critical with this move, saying that Kimbo would get destroyed by "real" MMA fighters, and lacks the skill set to thrive in the UFC. Yes, maybe that's true. Maybe dude will get destroyed in the UFC. Maybe he won't even make the house. But how would we ever know if he isn't given a shot? If he does make it, good for him. If he doesn't, what does he have to lose? What does the UFC lose?

Either way, I think he should be given a chance. Some people fiend off the doubt of others, and push themselves to work that much more to make it to the top. Not saying that he's one of them. But I'm not doubting him either.

I guess we'll just wait and see. Until next time haters.

Holla at ya boy.

First in History...First in you heart...

The great state of Delaware, the first state for you history buffs scored a few major victories in the recent days. First off it graduated it's 160th class (special props to my sister who was part of the class of 09'), but more importantly it landed Elena Delle Donne.

Elena was the 2008 Naismith national high school basketball player of the year. She went to Uconn, and after only 2 days on campus quit basketball, and transfered to the University of Delaware. Just today, she decided that she wasn't quite done playing the game she loved, and she will be a proud Blue Hen come tip-off this season.

For us here at the University, it's not really a big deal. Top recurits are a dime a dozen. You may have heard of guys like Rich Gannon, and Joe Flacco thats how we got the nickname Quaterback U. Delle Donne is just the next brick in the wall here at Delaware. A wall that soon will host an NCAA womens basketball championship banner.

JJ Going Hollywood

His 3rd year in the NBA, and he is already playing in the NBA Finals. I can honestly say, JJ Redick carried this team on his back. He is such an influential player, and must be a huuuuuuuge locker room leader. He molds minds from what I hear.

Last year, when JJ and I had a convo in NY, I told him "Dont worry, it will work out next year." Fast forward 1 year, look at him. He scored big buckets in playoff games this year, started many games, and had his best year to date. I hope he doesnt send me a thank you card, as we are great friends, and thats just what friends do for eachother.

Redick called me last night, and asked if I needed tickets for the Finals, I told him thanks, but I couldnt attend this year. He told me he had saved me 2, but they have now been spoken for. If you are looking to hit up JJ for tix, please know, he has gotten rid of his allotment.

Thursday night, JJ will have his game face on, gel in hair, and will be hosting a trey fiesta. He is quite the party planner. Just ask Erin Andrews.
