One things for sure after last night's 100m butterfly event in Rome: Michael Phelps still swags when he surfs. Literally. Leading into the highly anticipated showdown between Phelps and American-born Serb Milorad Cavic, the Serbian berated the Olympic gold medalist continuously with trash talk.
The salty 25-year-old still bitter about his defeat in the same event in last years Olympic final in Beijing made the pre-race headlines interesting when he lambasted Phelps for staying sticking with his Speedo swimsuit and deciding to stay loyal to his longtime sponsor. Cavic offered to personally buy and deliver a more "superior" and "faster" swimsuit made by Arena. Following an epic showdown in last years Olympic games, Cavic continued to stick to the thought that he had beated Phelps in a close race despite video evidence not in his favor. Unfortunatley for Cavic, Phelps pretty much murked dudes swim career and temporarily shut ol' boy up when he defeated him again in world-record fasion.
This dude Cavic is STILL on Phelps jock, proposing a "duel" for 2010 since the two most likely won't meet again until 2011. Earth-to-Cavic. You got sonned TWICE in the same event. Stop talking and stop throwing out challenges when you're in no position too. Be lucky if you still have a sponsorship with Arena when all this is done.
